Perches

You may have spent your day perched on your couch watching the big game, but the animals around here had to find other ways to spend their time. For some reason they just aren’t that into football.

The eagle watched things from the top of the tree. He (or she? How do you tell the difference?) was in a tree above our first calf heifers. I wanted to see if I could get a shot of him taking off, but it seemed like he just didn’t care that I was there. He sat there and patiently watched me. Of course, when I put my camera away he decided to jet.

Then Gemma decided to try out a perch of her own. She was really excited when I was loading hay and seemed to think there was something in the haystack. To thoroughly check it out, she didn’t just need to look around, but also up and down.
