Feelin' Foggy

We were hoping for some nice weather to preg test our cows, but we came up a little short. We still managed to get the heifers preg checked, the calves weaned, and the cows preg checked this week. Pregging heifers was chilly and just a little wet. For weaning we had good weather. And preg checking cows yesterday was foggy and pretty damp. Oh, and there was a little bit of snow on the ground on the mountain. All in all it went pretty well. We were happy with how the cows bred up and the calves have been doing pretty well for the most part. However, I did manage to come out of this week with the cold that has been going around. Maybe cold, damp weather isn’t what I needed, but I’m happy to have this cow work out of the way. There is another smaller herd that needs to be weaned and pegged, but I guess we will worry about that when the time comes.

I hope all of you managed to stay warm and dry this week. I’m going to go rest up and recover a little bit.
